Paul J. Uherek is a 40 year resident of Salem Township. He spent his formative years stu
dying in a parochial school. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University. After twenty-five years working in the private sector as a Chief Financial Officer he retired.
Paul is experienced in managing large investment and capital portfolios. He is a member of the Salem Area Historical Society and Salem Community Events Association. Paul enjoys a weekly game or two of chess, a good read, antiques and ornithology.
Paul’s vision for Salem Township is that it remain the relatively rural community that exists today. By investing township funds wisely, and with careful budgeting and preservation of current revenue streams Paul is committed to continue to levy no local tax for services.
Paul’s parents, Robert and Eugenia Uherek, taught him the importance of participating in our democracy and being involved in the community. Salem Township has always been the place he lives and calls home. Paul is honored to serve the residents of Salem as their Treasurer.
Deputy Treasurer Michelle Heisler
Michelle Heisler began working for Salem Township as a temporary employee in 2001 and was appointed Deputy Treasurer in 2002. She was re-appointed by the current Treasurer Paul J. Uherek. Michelle is the one you need to speak to if you have any questions regarding tax bills, and sewer bills.
Michelle is a mother of two teenagers. She is a long time hockey mom and enjoys golf in her free time.
