Brien Witkowski was first elected as a trustee in 2000 and since has been re-elected in 2004 and 2008. 

He has lived in Salem for 12 years with his wife and 4 children.  His 12 years as a small business owner and 10 years as a Canton Township Police Reserve Officer has afforded him the experience necessary to work directly with the Sheriff's department, the State Police, and Salem's fire department to provide the best possible public safety services to residents and visitors to the township, while still being fiscally responsible.

Brien also provided the township with computer networking and software support as well as managing the township’s web site. During his tenure, he has been appointed to numerous other committees always basing his decisions on what's best for the residents of Salem Township.  He has been instrumental in finding non-traditional solutions that have saved residents and the township expenses in excess of a million dollars.
