Tax Collection within Salem Township is conducted twice a year in the following manner:

Summer Taxes are mailed July 1st and due September 14th. A 1% penalty will be added on September 15th. There will be a 1% penalty October 1st and the first of each month thereafter.

Winter Taxes are mailed December 1 and due February 14th.

All unpaid real property taxes are turned over and payable to Washtenaw County on March 1st. The county automatically adds a penalty upon receipt of uncollected taxes.

Credit card payments are only accepted until 4;30 February 14th at the Salem Township Offices or by internet. A 3% fee will be charged and assumed by the taxpayer. Go to the following link to pay online.
